Information for Training Day and Celebration of Skills

Outline details:

Monday 20 October

  • Competitors to arrive in London on Monday evening to check into hotel, ready for next day: Premier Inn (details TBC) – see link above.

Training Day, Tuesday 21 October

  • 9:00am – 4:00pm– competitors only; no guests allowed.
  • After the training day we will be heading to Tower Pier for 4.45pm, for an exhilarating team building experience!
  • Once the activity has finished (circa 6pm), you are free to go for the evening.
  • Tuesday night accommodation provided for competitors at same location – Premier Inn – detailed above.

Celebration of Skills, Wednesday 22 October

  • You will need to arrive at One Marylebone at 10.45am
  • The event will finish after lunch at around 3.30pm
  • You can bring up to 3 guests:
    • 1x training provider guest
    • 1x employer guest
    • 1x personal guest
  • You must confirm to us by Friday 25 July how many of these guests are planning to attend: 1, 2 or all 3.

Support towards accommodation and travel

Travel

  • You and your guests will need to make your own return travel arrangements to London, which NET will contribute towards (as detailed below).
  • Competitors: please plan travel times to arrive at the Premier Inn on the evening of Monday 20 October, ready for an early start the next day.
  • Your guests can arrive at any stage. If they travel to London with you, they’ll need to find something to do during the Training Day and meet you at Tower Pier at 4:45pm.

Accommodation:

  • Accommodation for competitors has been booked and paid for by NET for the nights of Monday 20 & Tuesday 21 October.
  • If any of your guests plan to stay overnight in London, they will need to book their accommodation separately (unless they are sharing a room with you e.g. a partner) – NET is unable to cover accommodation for guests.

Costs supported by NET

  • Up to £100 per person for standard class return rail travel – for competitors and guests in England.
  • Competitors and guests in Scotland and Northern Ireland – NET will liaise with you on your specific arrangements.

ACTION NEEDED:

  1. RSVP with guest numbers by Fri 25 July: Watch the Celebration of Skills invite and return the RSVP form by Friday 25 July to confirm how many guests you are bringing.
  2. Book travel to London ASAP: Book your travel to London and advise your guests to do the same – please share this web page with them so they are aware of the plans. You should book travel ASAP in order to secure lower prices.
  3. Claim travel expenses by Fri 25 August: Claim your travel expenses by submitting the required paperwork (detailed in email by Jennie) by 25 August. After this date we are unable to process any more expense claims and you will not be reimbursed for your travel.
