SkillELECTRIC 2019 – identify your best candidate!

The registration period for the 2019 SkillELECTRIC competition is only a few months away, so why not make a start now on identifying your best candidates?

To excel in the competition you need not just technical skills and accuracy, but also the ability to remain calm under pressure, plan your time and possess the mental and physical stamina to succeed.

How can you make your selection?

Step 1: Our Pre-Competition Activity Pack includes a ‘talent-spotting checklist’ that lists the ideal personal attributes we are looking for in a potential competitor and the core competences they’ll need. You can use this to identify which of your trainees might have what it takes.
Download the Pre-Competition Activity Pack.

Step 2: Included in this pack is a Pre-Competition Task which can be used as in-house event – use the task sheet and marking scheme to see which learner has the most potential. The task isn’t onerous and supports curriculum delivery, and can also be used as part of your lesson plan.

Step 3: Once you’ve found your candidate, the registration site opens on WorldSkillsUK website from March 1st – April 5th 2019. In the meantime you can enter your details to be notified when registration starts.

Step 4: To support you during the regional heats, use the Training to Succeed manual to help you and your candidate be as prepared as possible for the regional competition that will take place between April- July 2019.

How many candidates can I enter?

You can enter up to three candidates per organisation but only one per campus.
