The eight competitors taking part in the SkillELECTRIC UK final this year will benefit from prizes generously donated by electrical testing specialist Megger.
Each finalist will receive a VF6 and MPU690 voltage tester and proving unit. As an added bonus, the competitor who is named UK champion will receive an MFT multi-function tester.
SkillELECTRIC, which is organised by National Electrotechnical Training and part of the WorldSkills UK competition network, is designed to promote and showcase high standards and skills across the electrotechnical industry.
During the UK final, competitors will be working on a complex installation task with multiple circuits, including various wiring systems, to an exact specification. Megger is also providing testing equipment for finalists to use during the competition and will be conducting a CPD session for competitors once they have finished their task.
“We are excited to be a part of the SkillELECTRIC UK Final, it is a fantastic opportunity for the young electricians to show their talent,” said Steve Marsh, Megger’s UK Marketing Manager. “We take pride in supporting apprentices and students and this competition is the perfect platform for this”
“We’re extremely grateful to Megger for their support of this year’s competition,” said Jennie Phung, SkillELECTRIC Project Manager. “Megger are not only one of the most well-known and respected manufacturer of electrical test equipment, but also have excellent reputation for supporting skills and training. We are proud to be working in partnership with them and thank them for the prizes which will be so valuable to each competitor.”
